Rainbow Youth to receive funds for school education workshops

Nikki Kaye, National MP for Auckland Central, is pleased that Rainbow Youth have been awarded funding by Minister Bennett from the Ministry of Youth Development’s Services for Young People Fund.

Rainbow Youth provides support, information, advocacy and education for queer young people and their friends, family and whanau.

“I have met with representatives from Rainbow Youth and I know the huge dedication and hard work they put into helping young people.”

“The work that Rainbow Youth undertake in schools aims to create a safer environment for young people. The workshops help people gain a greater understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity.”

“Rainbow Youth will receive $5,000 to deliver education workshops in Auckland schools.”
The Services for Young People Fund is designed to help young people reach their potential, stay on track for success and have a say in their local communities.
